TradeLore — Trading Journal for Indian Traders

About TradeLore

TradeLore was built from a simple observation: traders spend countless hours finding and executing trades, but very little time systematically reviewing them.

Why TradeLore exists

Many traders rely on spreadsheets, screenshots, broker statements, and scattered notes to understand their performance. While these tools record what happened, they rarely explain why it happened or what a trader should improve next.

TradeLore was created to solve this problem. It is a trading journal and performance analytics platform designed for Indian F&O and swing traders.

TradeLore helps traders bring their trades, notes, charts, strategies, and performance data into one structured system so they can understand which setups work, where they repeatedly make mistakes, and how timing, discipline, execution, and market conditions affect their results.

About the founder

I’m Thirumal, a graduate of BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus, originally from Hyderabad and currently based in Bangalore.

My time at BITS shaped the way I approach learning and problem-solving. It taught me to explore beyond the classroom, work with people from different backgrounds, experiment with ideas, and learn by building. Outside work, I enjoy playing ultimate frisbee, which has also taught me the importance of teamwork, communication, quick decision-making, and staying composed under pressure.

Trading was introduced to me by a close friend and mentor from college. Like most beginners, I found the journey challenging. Markets were unpredictable, emotions often influenced decisions, and my reasoning could change from one trade to the next. I might enter a trade for one reason, manage it for another, and later struggle to clearly understand what went right or wrong.

One problem stood out to me: keeping track of trades, emotions, thought processes, and recurring mistakes was unnecessarily difficult. Existing journals were often manual, fragmented, or focused only on profits and losses rather than the decisions behind them.

That experience led me to build TradeLore, a trading journal and performance analytics platform designed to help traders learn from their own behaviour.

I developed TradeLore by speaking with traders, studying their journaling habits, identifying gaps in existing tools, mapping workflows, prioritising features, building the MVP, onboarding users, and improving the product through feedback. Today, TradeLore offers structured trade reviews, broker integrations, detailed analysis, and more than 40 trading metrics. It has been used by over 100 traders and has analysed more than 5,000 trades.

Building TradeLore has strengthened my skills across product thinking, user research, design, technology, execution, and entrepreneurship. More importantly, it has reinforced my belief that the best products are built by deeply understanding real problems and solving them with simplicity.

Our mission

Our mission is to help traders become more self-aware, disciplined, and data-driven.

TradeLore is not designed to give trading calls, promise guaranteed returns, or replace a trader’s decision making. It is designed to help traders understand their own behaviour and make better decisions over time.

We believe sustainable improvement comes from reviewing the process, not merely celebrating profits or regretting losses.

Our vision

Our long-term vision is to build the most trusted performance and decision support platform for active traders.

We want TradeLore to become the companion traders use before, during, and after every trading session. It should help them prepare better, avoid repeated mistakes, review their execution, and build a trading process based on evidence rather than emotion.

TradeLore is being built alongside its users. Feedback from traders directly influences what we prioritise, improve, and build next.

Because the best trading journal should not only tell you what happened. It should help you understand what to do better next time.
